Removing hinges from a door frame leaves multiple deep recessed areas that require large amounts of putty to fill before painting. The Dutchman Hinge Filler saves you time, by not having to wait on several layers to dry and helps keep the outer edge square. These are designed for specific hinges and are listed by size in inches (Length x Width x Thickness). Simply measure the recessed area after hinge removal to determine which size is needed. The Hinge Fillers are 3D printed in white PETG plastic (putty covers easily) which can also be easily trimmed with a knife for a customized fit if needed. One side is concave to accommodate any bulges around screw holes. The actual size of these fillers are smaller to fit in the recessed area. **Please measure your recessed cavity accurately. New sizes are available upon request. Sold in packs as listed.
To affix, we recommend using a standard wood glue to attach the hinge filler. Even though the wood glue is not really made for plastic, it will suffice since very little strength is required for the application. For filling the gaps we recommend using a standard drywall spackle and then a fine sandpaper block to sand flat.
